Lion's Mane Grain Spawn (Hericium erinaceus) 1.7kg

This spawn is produced on-site at Urban Valley using Australian sorghum grain, autoclave sterilised at 121°C and inoculated under sterile lab conditions. Sorghum's small, round grain structure means excellent mycelial distribution and faster colonisation. 

Storage: Keep refrigerated at 2 to 4°C until ready to use. Do not freeze.

Best used by: Within 8 weeks of receiving for best results.Break grains apart in bag before inoculation.

Grow conditions:

• Substrate: Supplemented hardwood only, not recommended for straw
• Colonisation: 20 to 24°C, 2 weeks
• Fruiting: 14 to 26°C, 85 to 95% humidity, indirect light, good airflow
• Fruiting time: 14-18 days
• Note: Lion's Mane is more robust and can grow throughout the year. It takes approximately twice as long to fruit than oyster varieties so expect pinning to start around the one week mark and a growth time of approximately 6-10 days until harvest.
